The Light at the End of the Tunnel

For many of you, the semester will be ending in the next week or two.  Can you see the light at the end of the tunnel?  The time is almost here when you can relax.  Remember, the hard work you’re putting in now will pay off later.  This time you’re “spending” now is an investment in your future self.  Focus on who that will be, who you want to be.  It’s often helpful to focus on the end result instead of the process you have to go through to get there.  Don’t just “wish” about how you want things to turn out in the future though, think about them as if they have already happened!  Take some time alone to try to feel as if things have already turned out the way you want them to.  Feel how good it feels to be that successful person.  Imagine the high fives and fistbumps you’ll be exchanging with family and friends when you accomplish your goals.  Imagine the money you’ll have or the things you’ll be able to do as a result of having achieved your goals – whatever it is that makes you feel good.  Remember, anything we create starts off as a thought first.  Then, it manifests into reality.  Keep in mind, this works in both positive and negative ways.  Imagine how you want your life to be.  Don’t sit around thinking about how bad things are all the time or how you dislike the situation you’re in.  You’ll keep manifesting more of those bad things into reality if you do that.  Focus on what you DO want, not on what you don’t.  Remember the mental practice the olympic athletes do and that the brain can’t tell the difference between whether you really did it or just thought about it?  It’s a funny thing – when you finally reach your goals in reality, it won’t seem like such a big deal.  The reason being: in doing this mental rehearsal, you’ve already been there!
