The concepts you learn in Anatomy and Physiology can be applied to many different aspects of life. Take diffusion for example, the movement of a substance from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration. People can “diffuse,” with regard to their geographic location, and bring their talents with them (relocation diffusion). Take Lacrosse for example. Lacrosse is one of the fastest growing sports in the US. From coast to coast, many American high schools and colleges now have lacrosse teams. Historically, the strongest lacrosse teams have been located in the northeast corner of the country where lacrosse originated: Syracuse University in Syracuse NY (10 national championships in the modern era) and Johns Hopkins in Baltimore MD (9 national championships in the modern era). Over the years, talent has been diffusing away and schools as far west as Denver have built teams strong enough to win national championships. Many key players on the 2015 national championship squad (including the coach) were from the northeast corner of the country.
