  • Contains red and white blood cells
  • Located in a fluid matrix called plasma

Function:

  • Transport of:
    1. Respiratory gasses
    2. Nutrients
    3. Wastes
    4. Hormones
    5. Other substances important for the survival of the organism

Location:

  • Contained within the Cardiovascular system

Special Note:
Lymph is also a fluid connective tissue and is very similar to plasma with a few exceptions
